Question:
How safe is it to wear girdles or abdominal supports during pregnancy?
Answer:
As the pregnancy enlarges there is strain placed on the back, bladder abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. These abdominal support garments decrease pressure on the spine and pelvic floor and many women report a decrease on low back pain, abdominal pain and bladder problems and vulvar varicosities and hemorrhoids. Pregnancy support hose, since they cover the abdomen, also can be helpful.
Prenatal Cradle support garments are often especially helpful for women pregnant with multiples and women who's abdominal muscles may be lax from multiple pregnancies.
Sleeping in an abdominal support garment is not necessary, but you may want to put it on prior to getting up in the morning.
Does the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ and ADJUSTABLE PRENATAL CRADLE really work?
Yes. The PRENATAL CRADLEŽ and ADJUSTABLE PRENATAL CRADLE is based on the most natural stance of a woman with child. You may see a pregnant woman clasping her hands under her abdomen to give herself support. The PRENATAL CRADLEŽ and ADJUSTABLE PRENATAL CRADLE supports the weight of pregnancy in the same way. The abdomen is free and open to allow for air circulation, for comfort for baby and mom, and to apply moisturizing lotion to the skin.
Will any of your PRENATAL pregnancy supports belts be constricting or unsafe for my unborn baby/babies?
NO. All of our PRENATAL pregnancy supports belts are very safe for your unborn baby/babies. Our pregnancy support belts are a patented unique design that is F.D.A approved and are medically proven to be safe for your unborn child.
Will my insurance pay for this?
Many insurance companies are reimbursing patients. You may wish to call your insurance company to see if and how much your plan will cover and how to apply for reimbursement. If you are going to apply for insurance reimbursement, you will need a prescription from your doctor along with a copy of your sales receipt.
Can the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ help my backache?
The PRENATAL CRADLE'SŽ ORTHOTIC ACTION actually helps a pregnant mom to stand up straighter which decreases lordosis. When back pain is caused by the forward weight of the growing uterus pulling on the back and creating tension, the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ is a perfect solution to ease back pain. Women who have experienced previous injury to their back need to consult with their physicians before wearing any supportive device.
What if it bothers my bladder?
Unlike other supports, the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ support band under the abdomen can be adjusted to be placed higher on the abdomen so that it maintains effective support of the abdomen, yet does not interfere with or irritate the bladder.
Will the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ pull down on my shoulders?
No. The PRENATAL CRADLEŽ is so comfortable that many women forget they have it on. If you were to push down on the supportive band (as a growing uterus would increase in weight), you would feel no increase in tension at the shoulders. Uncomfortable tension on the shoulders is an indication that you may have the wrong size.
Do any of your maternity/pregnancy belts reduce ankle swelling?
Yes. The PRENATAL CRADLEŽ,PRENTAL CRADLE PLUS,BEST CRADLE AND MINI CRADLE help lift the weight of the babie(uterus) up from pressing hard on the returning veins from the legs and feet and therefore allows for less restricted return venous circulation. Testimonials from women who have worn the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ,PRENATAL CRADLE PLUS, BEST CRADLE, AND MINI CRADLE substantiate that it is effective for reducing ankle swelling. Remember that there are other factors that may contribute edema of the ankles (i.e. Eating or drinking foods high in salt). With the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ and all of our other maternity/pregnancy support belts, there are no bands around the legs to constrict circulation, and there is nothing that goes between the legs which can contribute to a build up of moisture or yeast infections.
How does the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ, PRENATAL CRADLE PLUS, and BEST CRADLE support?
The PRENATAL CRADLE, PRENATAL CRADLE PLUS, and BEST CRADLE'S unique points of support are all below the shoulders and actually helps a pregnant woman to stand up straighter. The points of support are:
the sewn criss cross between the breasts (at the baby label)
the side expanders which pull the front bands apart to create the open abdomen,
the torso bands which give lift to the front and to the back of the supportive band,
and the support band which supports the front of the abdomen and around to the back.
How can the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ,PRENATAL CRADLE PLUS, BEST CRADLE and MINI CRADLE support without compression?
The PRENATAL CRADLEŽ,PRENATAL CRADLE PLUS, BEST CRADLE and MINI CRADLE supports with no compression placed on the hips or lower back, thus allowing the hips to expand or relax naturally: so that the body can sufficiently prepare for a normal labor and vaginal delivery.
Will the maternity/pregnancy support belts help with my pain from HIP SEPARATION, or PUBIC SYMPHYSIS?
Women who experience pain from hip separation or pubic symphysis find that the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ AND BEST CRADLE support system actually lifts the weight of the growing uterus up from the pelvic cradle, keeping the weight of the uterus from "bouncing" on the painful ligaments. Women who have encountered these problems have found the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ and BEST CRADLE to be very effective in reducing their pain. Also see details on our BEST PRESS COLLECTION.
How do I wear your maternity/pregnancy support belts?
The PRENATAL CRADLEŽ,PRENATAL CRADLE PLUE, BEST CRADLE, AND MINI CRADLE are worn over the bra and under the panties so that it does not need to be adjusted during frequent trips to the bathroom.
How do I put on your maternity/pregnancy support belts?
(This answer applies to the PRENATAL CRADLE and BEST CRADLE ONLY)
Start by holding the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ label facing up. Make sure the two bands are coming out of the top of the label. If not, turn the label around so that they are. Place your head through the center of the two bands and your hands and arms on either side of the two bands. Pull the 3-inch supportive band down into place under your tummy. Straighten the bands if they are twisted and position the PRENATAL CRADLEŽ to where it is the most comfortable for you.
